Venice Port Authority to host GreenPort Cruise and Congress 2016

The 4th GreenPort Cruise Conference and 11th GreenPort Congress will be hosted by Venice Port Authority (VPA) from 11-14 October 2016 at the Marittima Passenger Terminal, Venice, Italy, and will feature a number of sessions dedicated to providing the most up-to-date information on environmental, sustainability and climate change issues to industry professionals from all over the world.

Over the last 15 years VPA has been carrying out a series of concrete green actions such as the restoration of the Venetian port waterfront, a massive remediation campaign of more than 110 hectares of land and water and the use of alternative energies and LNG. This makes Venice not only a beautiful setting for the Autumn Conference, but also a very fitting one.
GreenPort Cruise, now in its 4th year, will take place the day before the GreenPort Congress on 11 October and is aimed at anyone involved in environmental aspects of the cruise ship industry. The one-day conference will look at the Port-City working together to promote environmental benefits to cruise lines and cruise tourism, plus suggest solutions from around the world as to how to deal with cruise ship waste. The conference will highlight the innovations in equipment and technology to allow port users to adhere to policy, whilst illustrating practical solutions through case studies from the global port community. Furthermore, the GreenPort Congress will bring the port community together to discuss the environmental issues and practical solutions surrounding the global logistics chain.

L’Autorità Portuale di Venezia ospita il GreenPort Cruise and Congress 2016

VENEZIA – La 4ª conferenza GreenPort Cruise e l’11° GreenPort Congress saranno ospitati dall’Autorità Portuale di Venezia dall’11 al 14 ottobre 2016 presso il Venezia Terminal Passeggeri. Gli eventi saranno caratterizzati da un numero di sessioni dedicate a fornire le informazioni più aggiornate in materia di ambiente, sostenibilità e cambiamento climatico ai professionisti del settore di tutto il mondo.
Negli ultimi 15 anni l’Autorità portuale di Venezia ha svolto una serie di azioni molto concrete dal punto di vista ecologico ed ambientale come il restauro del lungomare del porto, una massiccia campagna di bonifica che ha riguardato più di 110 ettari di terra e acqua e l’implementazione dell’uso di energie alternative e dell’LNG. Tutto ciò rende Venezia, oltre che una splendida cornice per questa conferenza autunnale, anche una sede particolarmente appropriata.

La conferenza GreenPort Cruise, oggi alla sua 4ª edizione, avrà luogo il giorno prima del GreenPort Congress, ossia l’11 ottobre, e si rivolge a chiunque sia interessato agli aspetti ambientali nel settore delle navi da crociera. La giornata è rivolta alle Città-Porto affinché promuovano i benefici ambientali per le crociere di linea ed il turismo crocieristico ed indicherà le soluzioni adottate dal tutto il mondo in materia di trattamento dei rifiuti delle navi da crociera. La conferenza avrà le seguenti sessioni:
• Infrastrutture portuali per le crociere in relazione agli aumenti delle dimensioni delle navi e dei loro rifiuti
• Progetti dei porti: energie rinnovabili, sistemi di trasporto – pannelli solari nei parcheggi auto a lunga permanenza
• Riduzione delle emissioni in navigazione: aggiornamento e feedback da parte degli operatori che utilizzano LNG verso quelli che utilizzano scrubbers; le implicazioni in materia di sicurezza dell’LNG.
L’11° GreenPort Congress si terrà poi nei giorni 12, 13 e 14 ottobre. La conferenza metterà in evidenza le innovazioni dal lato delle attrezzature e della tecnologia che permettono agli utenti dei porti di aderire alla politica ecologico-ambientale illustrando soluzioni pratiche attraverso casi di studio della Port Community mondiale. Inoltre, il GreenPort Congress stimolerà la comunità portuale a discutere sulle questioni ambientali e sulle soluzioni pratiche che interessano la catena logistica globale.
